Haramaya Ifa Boru Special Boarding Secondary School Successfully Concludes the 2018 E.C. Academic Year

Haramaya, Oromia — Haramaya Ifa Boru Special Boarding Secondary School has successfully completed the 2018 E.C. academic year, recording significant achievements in academic excellence, student welfare, school administration, and infrastructure development.

During the academic year, the school planned to enroll 528 students across Grades 9 to 12. A total of 504 students were enrolled, and 498 students (98.81%) successfully completed the academic year, demonstrating the school's strong commitment to quality education and student success.

The school continued to strengthen teaching and learning by providing quality instruction delivered by experienced teachers and academic staff. Despite challenges in recruiting teachers in a few subject areas, classroom instruction continued effectively throughout the year.

Several major infrastructure improvement projects were completed during the year. Student dormitories, science laboratories, cafeterias, sanitation facilities, and the school gymnasium were renovated to provide a safer and more comfortable learning environment. The school also upgraded its water supply system, ensuring students have reliable access to clean drinking water.

To improve academic support, additional study libraries were established within the dormitory compounds, allowing students to study in a quiet and well-equipped environment. The school also employed additional cleaning staff to maintain classrooms, laboratories, ICT centers, dormitories, and the school compound at high standards of cleanliness.

Student welfare remained a top priority throughout the year. The school continued to provide quality boarding services, nutritious meals, healthcare support, and safe accommodation, helping students focus on their academic and personal development.
